Jamia alumni in dubai....Happenings before election in 2006

Part-2

I posted a brief history of Alumni association & now picking up th events from the election of new committee 2006.

It is important for many jamiaets present in this part of the world to know & understand the facts, gimmicks & unneccessary politics played during that period.

It was the last meeting of executive committee 2003-2005, where it was finally decided to announce general election to elect new committee.

Zakir ata ur rehman, then president showed his interest to continue work as an executive while i declared to refrain my self to contest for any post.

(There was no information from zakir that he is moving to Australia withing couple of months)

I made my statement very clear to give chance to new blood with a fusion of few old & experienced people inside the committee.

At that time, Ali faridi, saud ali yawar & intekhab alam among those who has shown significatnt committment & interest towards JG, were ready to take further responsibility along with alike jamiaets from the rest of the members.

Just to improvise & have a support, an advisory was formed with a request to me to join.

with little hesitation & concensus of all present in the meeting, i accepted the offer.

The other name proposed was asim rasheed khan, which was accepted after voting, with another name of Talha alvi without any voting.

It was also agreed in the meeting that present committee will not resign till the new comittee elected & also this committee will provide all neccessary support to Election body to outline proceedures & conduct elections.

Request made to Khursheed Bhai, Talha Alvi & Gheyasuddin azmi to act as a body to conduct elections.

I sat seriously in the capacity of GS & prepared out line for the role of committee to conduct an election.

As a practise of JG committee to suggest a panel for election, i sent an email to all concerned that there will be two meetings required to conclude the issue.

  • First meeting at Talha alvi's house to decide election date & proceedures.

  • Second meeting at Masood bhai's restaurent in Ajman with executive & other active senior & junior members like Masood bhai, Gheyasuddin azmi, Nadeem zaidi, Danish fahim, Minhaj, Zaid etc.

It was an utter surprise for me when Asim rasheed & Talha alvi raised the issue to decide the panel after deciding the date & proceedure right in the first meeting.

There were only five people attended the meeting (asim, talha, zaidi, Ali & myself).

I told them that another meeting would be advisible to decide the panel, in order to have opinion of many but asim stressed to decide the panel there as he thinks, not may people are interested in JG.

Zaidi agreed, Ali & Talha too.

I was fasting that day & become the part of discussion after little resistance.

It was really surprised that Masood Bhai & Gheyasuddin Azmi & active members like Nadeem zaidi, Danish Fahim, Minhaj, Zaid etc were not consulted collectively to decide the panel.

Before this meeting, Asim & Talha met me personally to contest for the post of president, which I opposed as i have already announed, not to contest any election.

They stressed that i must run for this post as there is no potential person available.

I told them, there are many, but they insisted once again to keep Zaidi out of this contest.

They also remind me that i have very bad relationship with ALI & i must reinstate this.

Any how, in the end, for the benefits of JG, i agreed to run for presiden't's post & to meet Ali to resolve any differences (which were not there according to me)as pointed out by them.

I met ALI, i called him in evening & he immediately responded to my call as always & came to meet at my residence.

I asked him that what are the differences between us that people are talking about?

He said "nothing".

We concluded the meeting with a note that, i have good feelings for him in my heart but certainly i do follow a staraight path when it come to JG in principle.

Therefore during the first meeting, ALI was proposed as GS, Danish fahim as JS & everybody agreed.

Asim called Arshad farooqui to contest as vice president but he refused outrigthly.

There was no body to include in the panel for vice president as we have searched everywhere, but suddenly Asim proposed Intekhab Alam's name.

Talha & Zaidi agreed & talha called Intekhab to contest for this post.

Intekhab has refused to run for the post & close his phone by saying that there are may sebiors around who are more responsible & eligible for this post.

Once again, search begin & again after no result Talha once again stressed Intekhab to run.

Intekhab again refused but after pressure from a senior with assurance to back, he reluctantly agreed.

Meeting concluded.

End of part-2...........

Part-3.......

Next day, i heard from Talha, Asim that many people are against Intekhab with no reference.

Talha contacted Intekhab & asked him to step down his candidature.

Upon asking talha told him that many people are against,he asked who? No reply!

He reiterated that if this is the case, then many are against Zubair bhai as president, Ali faidi as GS, then why they all stop their nomination?

He said Talha bhai if you ask me to step down, i will really do it becuase inever want it, but the reason you state is not a valid reason & i can smell some sort of politics & there there fore i will go ahead with election.

He consult me & i have told him as well as to others that yes, he should go ahead & let people decide because, proposing a panel & agreement on the same is all now lying with members.

This was a turning point, when i really smell some thing which indeed not good for JG.

Many people called me for election & my reply to them was simple, if you think, you can be the part of then, please file your candidature & contest election.

One of them was Nadeem Zaidi, he wanted to participate & consulted me, i told him as we have some sort of panel, however you are free to contest for any post you like.

I encouraged him to go for president, he inclined to contest for GS.

Meanwhile, far from my sight many things were happening & many people became very active, which indeed was a good sign for e, as people are trying to take interest in JG, but i was not knowing that these happening were for some political ambitions.

I still sit back & try to undermine the extent of those political gains!!!

Asim called me & instigate to called Nadeem Zaidi to contest for GS, i asked why? he told me for fun.

I said what what fun? he replied, there will be some movement & many people will be on toes.

It was the day 3 hours before closing of nomination when our conversation took place.

Far from my ear & sight, Asim approached Muzaffar Ali beg to contest for President, a he want both of us (Zubair & Muzaffar) to stand against each other, he refused & asim rasheed khan's one way of planning gets stucked.

I dont understand why people try to embark on two boats at a time?

It was revelaed to me later when i visited Muzaffar.

Asim was against Quaisar Zaidi to be the president of JG, He pressurised me against my will to contest for president & at the same time he was persuing Muzaffar to run for the post!!!

Why?

Why he was trying all these things?

What was his motto?

At closing, Talha informed me that Afsar Javed also files his nonimation for president,

Muzaffar & Habib ul wahidi were among two who backed him.

The same evening i called upon Muzaffar to confirm & he denied his involvement at all in election or proposing any one for any post.

Things become clear for me.

It was some one very near & dear, trying to create confusion between people.

Any how, Afsar's nomination was taken back later.

The culprit didnt sit quiet & tried another option.

On the day of election, Asim called me to have a meeting just before election.

I refused, because my wife was pregnant with certain complications & i have to take her to hospital for few checkups before election at Mubarak centre.

Asim Insisted too much to attend this meeting, even at the cost of leaving my wife alone in hospital.

Once again i smell the trap & willingly agreed to do it just for the sake of JG.

Upon arrival, it was a meeting set in the name to insult an individual in person by puting all blame to have unprecidented happening before election with Talha, Zaidi, Ali, Asim, Gheyas, Danish Fahim, Minhaj, Helal.

Nadeem zaidi joined later & cleared things for many of them & made it very clear that Zubair bhai has nothing to do with nomination.

I pounded back on with allegations & remain firm on various points raised under influence.

Election held & Committee elected with a surprise that Nadeem zaidi, who was once leading by 8-9 votes suddenly lost to Ali.

Since i was sitting on front table & observing the complete procedures, also surprised but left it unnoticed.

I came out for a while to see some one from the hall, Ali was also going back with his family & when I returned, found no one inside hall & finally departed home.

Not so sure, i then asked Talha & Asim for the record of election & both said the file is not with them.

Talha said, it is with asim & asim replied visa versa.

I checked with Mubarak center about payment made to confirm number of person, which indeed were at least 12 less than the total number of vote count.

Things started clear for me.

I recalled the seating arrangments at stage & found the following,

  • zaidi was standing on dias
  • Asim was sitting first on table to count votes followed by Talha
  • Khursheed bhai was sitting next to Talha & Gheyas was sitting in the end.

zaidi, added few votes, handed over to asim, he mixed at the time when nadeem zaidi was leading.

It was a cheating, cheating with members of JG, Cheating with Nadeem zaidi & disgracefull as a senior to cheat any body present in that hall.

I asked many times to Asim & Talha to cross check records, but they never gave it to me.

No dubt that all the expenses beared by Talha, since there was no fund available to host election,

Iam also sure that Ali was not aware of what has actually happened, otherwise, he will never accept the way he has been awarded the post on crutches.

I said this because Ali himself mentioned in the meeting before election that he dont want any misunderstanding & fight & there fore withdrawing his name.

but cheating???

It was just disgusting.

I remember Zaidi's comment during the meeting that, we will get our guys in the association, by hook or by crook.

This was my big misake, although i took this matter with them, in order to reinstate confidence & some sort of good understanding instead to make this as an issue with complete jamia community in dubai & result in a split of JG,

but to no avail.

Politics got the right grip of this vary association who still trying to strive for some good grounds & the most unfortunate things that can happend to any organisation was actually happend to JG because its own people were trying to mess around with each other without knowing the destination & results.

jamia alumni association in dubai

This is not part-2 of previous post, it will follow for sure.

However, Let me make this very clear that the facts of Jamia alumni association, which iam going to unveil may blackened positive/good image of few but this is not my purpose to post everything.
Iam just trying to record happening during my times as a part of history & every body knows, history always cater, the good, the bad & the ugly, together.

I will have no hesitation to accept few of my basic mistake pertaining to this association that i made during 1999-2006(may). But it will definitely an eye opener for many Alma mater for sure.
There fore, take it as history & try to digest the facts.

How to waste your time!!!

There are many ways to waste time & surely two of them are as follows,

  • Create & start writing a blog (as few stated to me).
  • Start viewing some one's blog & keep writing comments which are irrelevant & purposely done to libel the writer.
I must avow that these individuals are suffering from acute inferiority complex & a frustrated state of mind that never allowed them to create something rather brewed their persona to be covetous with any thing beyond their limits.
Some times these lampoons worked alone & very often in a group.

Few Moments with Jamiaets in RIYADH, KSA

On my way back to Dubai after performing Umrah, i took a stopover in Riyadh to meet One of my good friend & a senior jamiaet Ghizal Mehdi.
He is an intelligent, thoughtful & a typical jamiaet, Full of energy & knowledge in many fields, fluent in linguistic Arabic.
He is among the those who always strive to do something & bring Jamiaets together.
Ghizal Bhai invited many jamiaets at lunch on friday 18.05.07, so that i can meet them all at once during my short stay in Riyadh.
I felt immense pleasure while meeting & interacting with Jamiaets.
Following are few pics taken during the meeting.
